1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use YourBook:

  • Account data — your email address, name, and profile details provided during sign-up
  • Audio recordings — voice memos you record within the app
  • Transcriptions & memoir content — AI-processed text derived from your recordings and any edits you make
  • Usage data — app interactions, feature usage, session duration, and device type and operating system
  • Billing data — subscription status, purchase history, and print credit balance (payment card details are managed by RevenueCat or Paddle and are never stored by YourBook e.U.)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and operate the YourBook service, including transcribing recordings and generating memoir sections
  • Process subscription payments and manage your account
  • Sync your content across devices and maintain offline access
  • Send service-related communications such as account confirmations and billing receipts
  • Improve and develop YourBook features based on aggregated, anonymised usage patterns

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your memoir content for advertising or to train AI models.

3. Third-Party Services

YourBook relies on the following third-party providers to deliver the service. Each is governed by its own privacy policy:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage infrastructure
  • OpenAI — audio transcription and AI memoir generation
  • AssemblyAI — conversation transcription with speaker diarization
  • Anthropic — AI memoir generation and content assistance (Claude)
  • Google — AI memoir generation and content assistance (Gemini)
  • RevenueCat — subscription management for iOS and Android
  • Paddle — payment processing for web subscriptions

We share only the minimum data necessary with each provider and require them to handle your data in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Supabase-managed infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. Audio recordings are stored securely and associated exclusively with your account — they are not accessible to other users.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to export your memoir content regularly.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service.

When you delete your account, all your content — including recordings, transcriptions, memoir sections, and profile data — is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregated usage statistics may be retained for analytical purposes.

To delete your account, go to Profile > Billing > Delete Account, or contact us at privacy@yourbook.ai.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Portability — request an export of your memoir content
  • Objection — object to certain types of data processing

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@yourbook.ai. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

YourBook is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us at privacy@yourbook.ai and we will delete the information promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

YourBook e.U. may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email. The date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last updated.
